The D.A. Breaks a Seal
The D.A. Breaks a Seal
Where there’s a will there’s a way — at least that was old A. B. Carr’s reasoning until Doug Selby appeared and mapped out another course...
Obviously the young lawyer, Inez Stapleton, had bitten off more than she could chew. It isn’t easy to prove coercion in a will contest involving a million dollars... particularly if A. B. Carr is on the other side.
Happily, just when things seemed toughest, Doug Selby arrived on the scene.
That’s when the body was found... And Selby had just five days to solve the most puzzling case of his career.
Characters:
Fred Albion Roff, a gentleman in Room 619: unhappily he liked sugar in his coffee.
Anita Eldon, a beautiful blonde: every ounce of her added up to Hollywood.
Coleman Dexter: a gentleman with an eye out for property and anything else that came down the pike.
Hattie Irwin, a gentle old lady who had won a prize: she could put faces together.
Elmer D. Floris: he was a little slow at keeping appointments but he left in a whale of a hurry.
Martha Otley: she proved, in spirit, that the evil men do lives after them.
And of course there is Sylvia Marlin, still wrapped up in her newspaper work and equally interested in Selby; and the Sheriff Rex Brandon, who’s just as solid and homespun as ever.
